Today (26 Feb 2025) Mr. Charoen Laothamatas, President of the Thai Rice Exporters Association, revealed that exporters estimate Thai rice exports for the year 2015 at 7.5 million tons, a contraction of 24.2% when compared to last year's rice exports of 9.94 million tons. This year's rice exports still need to monitor important impact factors, such as India returning to export rice after suspending exports for the past 2 years, coupled with a significant increase in global production, including India, which has increased production for the first time in 30 years.
